The exciting work of developing video case studies of high-quality care in Europe
CARE partners will conduct case studies in seven countries (Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and the UK), in order to identify common and culturally different key-elements of process quality and educational dialogues.
The European countries represent relevant variation in welfare regimes, ECEC systems and cultural values.
Video observations, field notes, and interviews will also contribute to determine the cross-cultural validity of widely used standard measures of curriculum, pedagogy, and classroom quality.
CARE researcher Marja-Kristiina, from the University of Jyväskylä, discusses how the case studies will help to identify best practices in different European cultural contexts.
