Thorough examination of 'quality' and 'well-being' at CARE Kick-off meeting
The CARE team met in Utrecht on January 19 to 21 2014, for the start of the project that in the next years will contribute to a culture-sensitive and evidence-based quality framework for the European ECEC systems.
The kick-off meeting made a start with a thorough examination of the central concepts quality and well-being, and how they are sometimes differently defined in the participating countries.
Plans have been made for the other big tasks in the project: the integrated analysis of the five ongoing large-scale studies into the effectiveness of ECEC across Europe, the international comparative interview study into parents’ and teachers’ beliefs regarding quality and well-being, and the in-depth observation study of care and education practices in the different countries.
